The Greenwood Avenue corridor is about to get a lot furrier.

Two Phinney Ridge small businesses are launching the first-ever Dog Pawrade on Sunday, Aug. 23, a free, five-hour walking event that sends dogs and their humans through three neighborhood stops along Greenwood Ave N. RidgeWood Bottle & Tap and Phinney Station organized the afternoon, which runs noon to 5 p.m. and includes free pup cups, a doggy splash pad, banana bobbing, flash tattoos and live pet portraits.

The route is entirely walkable within the Phinney Ridge/Greenwood commercial corridor, and every stop is dog-friendly year-round.

The three stops

Stop 1: RidgeWood Bottle & Tap (316 N. 67th St.), noon–1 p.m. Dogs get a free build-your-own Pup Cup. Humans get swag. Attendees can sign up via QR code for custom watercolor pet portraits by Seattle illustrator Siece, whose work starts at $18.

Stop 2: Holy Mountain Brewing Phinney Taproom (7011 Greenwood Ave N.), 1:15–2:15 p.m. Hydration stations for pups and people. The taproom's 12 rotating taps and outdoor seating along Greenwood Avenue will be open.

Stop 3: Phinney Station (7418 Greenwood Ave N.), 2:30–5 p.m. The longest stop brings local vendors, a doggy splash pad, a banana bobbing station, flash tattoos and walk-up sign-ups for pet portraits by Siece.

Small businesses driving the fun

Stuart Faris, a co-owner of RidgeWood Bottle & Tap, has been vocal about the tight-knit business culture along Greenwood Avenue, describing the Phinney Neighborhood Association as central to the corridor's identity in a PNA business testimonial. That small-business network is on full display here: all three stops are independently owned, dog-welcoming spots within a roughly 10-block stretch.

RidgeWood Bottle & Tap announced the Pawrade on Instagram on Aug. 8, and the post had drawn 188 likes within a week.

Admission is free. Vendor purchases and portrait commissions carry their own costs. No registration is required. Leashed, well-behaved dogs of all sizes are welcome at every stop.
