Seattle Parks kicks off its Center City Cinema series Wednesday with a free screening of "The Emperor's New Groove" at Seven Hills Park.

Pre-movie activities begin at 6:30 p.m., and the film starts at dusk. Bring blankets and chairs.

For Ballard families, mark your calendars: Ballard Commons Park (5701 22nd Ave NW) hosts four free Wednesday-night screenings in August — "Top Gun: Maverick" on August 5, "Galaxy Quest" on August 12, "The Lost Boys" on August 19, and "Despicable Me" on August 26.

Movies at the Mural, Seattle Center (305 Harrison St) — Fridays at 9 p.m., preceded by short films from Cornish College of the Arts and UW Film and Video alumni. All Center City Cinema screenings may be canceled if it rains, according to Seattle Parks.

For a paid alternative, Movies at Marymoor Park in Redmond runs Wednesdays from July 8 through August 26. Tickets are $10 (kids 5 and under free, dogs welcome). Titles include "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Jurassic Park," and "The Princess Bride."

Wednesday, June 25: USA vs. Turkey, World Cup group stage, 7 p.m. PT on FOX. Match is at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California (not Lumen Field).

Friday, June 26: Ballard Regnbue Pride Festival & World Cup Watch Party, 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m., Ballard Ave NW and 22nd Ave NW (5400 Ballard Ave NW). Free. The inaugural event features emcee Sativa The Queen, DJ SummerSoft, three World Cup matches on a jumbo screen (including Egypt vs. Iran), a drag show, kids' activities from Illumination Learning Studio and the National Nordic Museum, and vendors including Spice Waala and Rough and Tumble Pub. Skål Beer Hall hosts a Norway vs. France watch party starting at noon with $5 Aass and Carlsberg pilsners. Organized by Ballard Alliance/Visit Ballard.

Friday, June 26: Egypt vs. Iran, World Cup at Lumen Field (800 Occidental Ave S). Additional Seattle matches scheduled for Thursday, July 2, and Tuesday, July 7 (opponents TBD based on knockout bracket).

Saturday, June 27: Sustainable Ballard's 17th Annual Edible Garden Tour, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Self-guided walking or biking tour of Southeast Ballard gardens, including Greg's Garden P-Patch and the Brimmer & Heeltap restaurant garden. Start point: Collective Chemistry, 5201 11th Ave NW. Tickets: $15 donation; free for supporting members and children 10 and under.
