A three day takeover celebration from Kinnear Park to Bethany Presbyterian Church is coming to Queen Anne.
Saturday, June 13, marks the inaugural Discover Queen Anne, a free drop-in day running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. across three activity hubs along and around Queen Anne Ave N.
The Queen Anne Community Council, the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce, and the Queen Anne Historical Society are co-leading the effort, and more than a dozen local merchants are welcoming open their doors with discounts.
The guided walking tours of the southwest corner are already sold out. The route starts at the Masonic Temple, 1608 4th Ave W, covers 1.5 miles and takes about 90 minutes. Self-guided tour materials from the Historical Society remain available to anyone who shows up.
Now, for the good stuff. Here's what's happening at each hub:
Bethany Presbyterian Church Lawn: Live music from Chicken Roosters String Band (11 a.m.), Puget Sound Company (noon), and Connor Desai (2 p.m.). Yoga in the grass with häutēyoga, a local studio, at noon and 2 p.m. (pre-registration required). Face painting from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
West Crockett St Plaza: Pop-up pickleball with contests, prizes, and a raffle courtesy of Pickle at the Palms (11 a.m.–3 p.m.). MoveMend runs jumping and strength training. QA Little League sells baked goods until 2 p.m.
Towne Plaza (near Trader Joe's on Queen Anne Ave N): Event home base. Saving Great Animals hosts dog adoptions from noon to 3 p.m. We Heart Seattle maintains a tent all day and leads a litter pick-up starting at 10 a.m. from Kinnear Park's tennis courts.
Beyond the hubs, Aluel Cellars pours oyster-and-wine pairings from 2 to 6 p.m. (running past the event's official 4 p.m. close), and Picture Perfect Queen Anne hands out nasturtium seedlings at Boston Street and Queen Anne Ave N from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You can pose with Craig, their scarecrow.
Organizers have invited city and state elected officials but with one condition. According to the event page, this is "intentionally a 'no speeches' event." Officials have been asked to grab a paddle, throw on sneakers, and rally with neighbors. No microphones. No podiums. Just pickleball.
District 7 Councilmember Bob Kettle, who represents Queen Anne and lives in the neighborhood, has not publicly confirmed whether he'll attend.
Merchant deals worth a detour:
Blue Highway Games offers 25% off full-price clothing. Foundation takes 20% off Queen Anne-related items.
Queen Anne Dispatch gives 10% off food to anyone who mentions Discover Queen Anne. Molly Moon's knocks $10 off registration for their annual 5K if you sign up by Sunday, June 15, using code "discoverQA."
Queen Anne Frame & Gift on Galer is opening its new back garden and offering 50% off Queen Anne Apolis market bags plus free popcorn.
The event falls during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which brings international visitors to Seattle this summer. Organizers have said Queen Anne has "a unique opportunity to shine."
