Magnolia is getting its first-ever Pride Picnic this summer, one highlight in a packed schedule of free and low-cost neighborhood events running through early August.
The Magnolia Pride Picnic is set for Sunday, July 12, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ella Bailey Park with a stunning view of the city. The Magnolia Community Council announced the inaugural gathering in a June 5 post by Amy Plantenberg, inviting neighbors to bring a blanket, snacks, and family.
Magnolia Farmers Market — every Saturday through October 10
The weekly market at W McGraw Street and 33rd Avenue W runs 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. all summer. Kids can join the Power of Produce (POP) Club on the first Saturday of each month. The Magnolia Community Council will have a booth on Saturday, June 20.
Seafair Indian Days Powwow — Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19
The 37th annual powwow at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center (5011 Bernie Whitebear Way, inside Discovery Park) is free and open to the public. Hours are 4:00–10:00 p.m. Friday, 10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Saturday, and 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Sunday. The United Indians of All Tribes Foundation expects roughly 20,000 attendees over the weekend, with more than 50 Indigenous vendors, a drum contest offering $3,000 for first place, and free first-come, first-served camping starting at noon Friday.
Free Shakespeare in Discovery Park — Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1
GreenStage, now in its 38th season of free outdoor Shakespeare, brings two shows to the Discovery Park Visitor Center lawn at 7:00 p.m. each night: The Winter's Tale on July 31 and Coriolanus on August 1. No tickets needed.
Magnolia Summerfest — Saturday, August 1
The annual neighborhood festival returns August 1. Check @magnoliasummerfest on Instagram for updates.

- Discovery Park Bird Walks (free, all levels): Wednesday, July 29 and Saturday, August 8. Hosted by Birds Connect Seattle.
- Free Summer Concerts at the Ballard Locks: Jazz, brass, and community bands all summer at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, a short walk from Magnolia across the Ship Canal.
- National Night Out: Tuesday, August 4. Neighbors can register their block for the citywide event.
