Mary Anito is running for Washington House District 34, Position 2, in the November 3, 2026, general election. King County Elections lists Anito and Joe Fitzgibbon as the two candidates, both preferring the Democratic Party.

Anito’s campaign describes her as an engineer and small-business owner based in West Seattle. She emphasizes a practical approach to government informed by work in operations and manufacturing.

Her campaign platform calls for increased school funding, including special education, materials and staffing, and changes to levy equalization. She supports career and technical education, apprenticeships and dual-credit programs.

On housing, Anito proposes expanding affordable supply, improving existing homes’ energy efficiency and preventing evictions. Her healthcare proposals include movement toward universal coverage, expanded behavioral-health capacity and support for reproductive and elder care.

Anito also calls for simpler licensing and greater access to capital for small businesses while retaining worker and consumer protections. On gun safety, she supports secure storage, background checks and community violence prevention.

These are Anito’s campaign proposals. Her campaign says she would use public outcome data to evaluate programs and share progress with residents.
