Expect event-night parking rates, street closures, and up to 17,000 concertgoers flooding Lower Queen Anne on Tuesday, August 4, when Monroe, Washington's own Benson Boone brings his Wanted Man Tour to Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center.

The show begins at 8 p.m. with special guest Ashe. The concert makes Seattle the first Washington state stop on the tour after wildfires forced the postponement of Boone's Spokane date on Sunday, August 2.

A Washington kid comes home

Boone, 24, grew up in Monroe, about 30 miles northeast of Seattle. He was on the diving team and tennis team at Monroe High School before discovering his singing voice at a battle of the bands competition during his junior year.

Five years later, his single "Beautiful Things" spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and was named the world's most-streamed song of 2024 by IFPI. He earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2025 and performed a front flip off a piano at the ceremony.

His second album, American Heart, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The Wanted Man Tour launched July 7 in Pittsburgh and has sold out stops across the country, according to tour coverage.

Spokane date postponed by wildfires

Boone posted on Instagram on Saturday, August 1, after his Spokane show was rescheduled to Sunday, September 6 due to area wildfires: "There has been an enormous amount of wildfires and smoke filling the area, hundreds of people are out of power and unable to make the show. Our thoughts and prayers are out to the people surrounding these fires, and thank you to the Spokane Fire Department for keeping people safe."

The Seattle date is confirmed and unaffected.

What Lower Queen Anne residents need to know

Transit: Every ticket includes a free King County public transit pass, valid two hours before and after the event. It works on King County Metro buses, Sound Transit Link light rail, and the Seattle Center Monorail, which runs a 90-second ride from Westlake Center downtown, according to Climate Pledge Arena's transportation page. Bus routes 1, 2, 8, 13, 32, and RapidRide D serve stops on the west side of Seattle Center, per SDOT.

Parking: The city's event parking schedule confirms elevated rates from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday: $4 per hour for the first two hours and $10 per hour after that in Uptown, $3/$8 in the Uptown Triangle. No parking is allowed on 1st Ave and Mercer, on Lenny Wilkens Way between 1st Ave N and Sue Bird Ct N, or on Warren Ave N between Denny Way and Lenny Wilkens Way. Vehicles will be towed.

Rideshare: Drop-off before the show at Republican St and Warren Ave N, the MoPOP turnaround, or the Mercer St/McCaw Hall zone. After the show, pickup moves to MoPOP or Space Needle on Broad St for 45 minutes while 1st Ave N is closed to rideshare vehicles.

Three garages serve the arena: the underground Arena Garage (with EV charging), the 1st Ave N Garage, and Seattle Center's 5th Ave Garage.

Seattle Repertory Theatre opens a preview of Freak the Mighty, a world premiere musical adapted from the Rodman Philbrick novel, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 4. Tickets run $39 to $131, and the show runs through Sunday, September 6.

The Seattle Center Sculpture Walk, a free outdoor installation series, is open daily across the campus.

After Tuesday, the Wanted Man Tour heads to Portland's Moda Center on Wednesday, August 5.
