Seattle's Pride weekend lands Saturday, June 6, with free festivals in four neighborhoods.
The largest is Seattle Pride in the Park at Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill. The free event features drag performances, live music, DJs, and food trucks. More than 80 vendor booths spotlight LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC-owned businesses, and a 21+ alcohol garden is on-site. The rest of the event is family-friendly.
In White Center, the Pride Street Festival returns with the theme "All Out." It's a grassroots block party with more than 100 local vendors, drag and live performances across multiple stages, beer gardens, and family-friendly activities throughout the Business Core.
Families with kids may want to start the morning in Phinney-Greenwood, where the PhinneyWood Pride Rainbow Hop marks its 13th year. The free scavenger hunt runs Saturday, June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. along Greenwood Avenue between 67th and 87th streets. Kids collect six stamps from participating businesses to earn free Woodland Park Zoo tickets. The day begins with a free anti-bullying play at Taproot Theatre.
For something lower-key, Gays Eating Garlic Bread in the Park invites Seattle's queer community to Woodland Park on Saturday, June 6 from noon to 5 p.m. No agenda. Just garlic bread.
Tonight, the Northwest Firelight Chorale performs "What The World Needs Now" at Ballard First Lutheran Church, Friday, June 5 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The program includes "A Change Is Gonna Come," "The Times They Are A-Changin'," and "Lean on Me."
Also Saturday morning, volunteers can join a community cleanup at the AIDS Memorial Pathway in Capitol Hill, where organizers provide breakfast, lunch, and supplies to help prepare the neighborhood for Pride month.
All Saturday events listed are free. Start times for Pride in the Park and the White Center festival had not been confirmed in event listings as of publication; check seattlepride.org and whitecenterpride.org for updates.
