Abbey Murphy, the No. 2 pick in June's Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) draft, will make her Climate Pledge Arena debut Sunday, Dec. 20 when the Seattle Torrent host expansion club PWHL Las Vegas at 4 p.m.
Tickets went on sale at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28 through Ticketmaster, the team announced. Season ticket memberships and half packs are also available. Flex packs go on sale when the full schedule drops.
The Dec. 20 game is the first regular-season meeting between Seattle and Las Vegas, one of four expansion clubs joining the 12-team PWHL for its fourth season.
Before the home opener, the Torrent open on the road at the Vancouver Goldeneyes at noon PT Saturday, Dec. 5 at Pacific Coliseum. That game is part of a league-wide opening weekend with all 12 teams in action Dec. 5-6, featuring the PWHL's first nationally broadcast Saturday Game of the Week on ION through a new Scripps Sports partnership. Seattle then visits the Minnesota Frost at 11 a.m. PT Sunday, Dec. 13.
The complete regular-season schedule will be released Friday, Oct. 2. National broadcast details will come with it.
Seattle's second season brings a reshaped roster. Christine Bumstead was promoted from assistant to head coach after the team parted ways with inaugural head coach Steve O'Rourke. General Manager Meghan Turner said in September, when announcing the hire, that she was "confident that Christine's vision and style will set us on the right path as we build into our second season …" KIRO 7 reported.
Murphy, a forward who left the University of Minnesota as its all-time leader in goals scored, called Seattle "such a welcoming city, where women's sports is prioritized" after being drafted in June, according to The Seattle Times. "You don't get that a lot of places."
The Torrent finished eighth in the PWHL standings in their inaugural 2025-26 season with nine wins and missed the playoffs. They still set multiple U.S. women's hockey attendance records at Climate Pledge Arena, though specific figures have not been published.
Returning players include forward Alex Carpenter, defender Anna Wilgren, and goaltenders Hannah Murphy and Carly "CJ" Jackson.
Tickets for the Dec. 20 home opener are available at thepwhl.com.
