Damon Shadid is seeking reelection as Seattle Municipal Court Judge, Position 7, in the November 3, 2026, general election. King County Elections lists him as the sole candidate in this nonpartisan race.

In his current voters’ pamphlet statement, Shadid describes a judicial approach combining public safety with access to services that help people leave the criminal legal system.

Shadid says he has worked with prosecutors and public defenders on Connection Court, a program built on his earlier Community Court work. He describes connecting participants with community services that address underlying causes of criminal behavior.

His statement also cites four years presiding over Mental Health Court and the creation of a consolidated calendar intended to help community caseworkers connect clients with court services.

Shadid says the court should help improve access to housing, substance-use treatment and mental-health services while treating people fairly and compassionately. These descriptions of court initiatives and his goals are attributed to his current candidate statement.
