Chef Sarah Monson's Stacked sandwich pop-up has gone permanent at 532 Queen Anne Ave N, operating daily inside Montana Badlands on the Lower Queen Anne corridor near Seattle Center.

Monson, a veteran Seattle line cook with credits at Rupee Bar and Cornelly, ran Stacked as a roving pop-up at breweries including Fair Isle Brewing in Ballard and Cloudburst Brewing before settling into the Queen Anne dive bar.

Montana Badlands soft-opened the sandwich program on Thursday, April 30, and Seattle Met confirmed daily operations as of Thursday, May 15.

The address has churned through food concepts since early 2024. Mediterranean restaurant Dandylion closed, wine bar La Dive operated from February to August 2024, and Montana Badlands opened on September 30, 2024, initially serving food from Hayati Mezze & Sweets. Stacked is at least the fourth food concept at the address in just over two years.

Monson built a following during the pandemic with "The Cook Book," a zine-style recipe collection assembled with out-of-work line cooks whose proceeds went to COVID-19 Mutual Aid Seattle. Her menu includes a pork and porter melt, roasted winter squash sandwich, and the signature "dirty jojos," seasoned potato wedges highlighted by Seattle Met.

Stacked announced their new sandwich lineup including summer caesar with white anchovies and broccolini rising.

The opening coincides with Seattle's World Cup hosting; the first match near Seattle Center was Monday, June 15.

Montana Badlands is open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
