Dominique Malonga is headed to Chicago.

The 20-year-old Seattle Storm center earned her first WNBA All-Star selection on July 7, chosen by league coaches as one of 12 reserves for the All-Star Game at the United Center.

She is the third-youngest All-Star in WNBA history, according to the league, and the 12th player in Storm franchise history to receive the honor.

"I feel like almost every other day, we're hearing some kind of eye-popping number that's starting to happen with Dom," Storm head coach Sonia Raman said. "She's a special player. She's a special talent and she's a special person."

The numbers back it up. Despite missing eight games with a concussion suffered Wednesday, May 13, Malonga leads the Storm in scoring (15.9 points per game) and rebounding (7.4 per game) while averaging career highs in blocks (1.2) and assists (1.3) across 15 games.

On Monday, June 22, she scored a career-high 37 points and 12 rebounds against Dallas, becoming the youngest player in league history to reach 200 career field goals at 20 years and 219 days old. On Monday, July 6, she became the youngest to reach 300 career rebounds.

Malonga was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and moved to Nanterre, France, a suburb of Paris, at age 10. Both her parents played basketball. She grew up in the same neighborhood as San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, played in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league during the offseason, and is pursuing a computer science degree online at Southern New Hampshire University.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 draft made the All-Rookie Team last season.

During a TV timeout early in the Storm's 2026 home opener at Climate Pledge Arena, Malonga was shown on the videoboard wagging her right index finger and yelling "Pas chez moi" — roughly "Not in my house" — to teammate Natisha Hiedeman and the crowd. That confidence has carried into her second year.

The Storm sit at 6-17, second-to-last in the WNBA standings, but the franchise's investment in young talent is paying individual dividends. Malonga and 19-year-old rookie Awa Fam, the No. 3 pick in the 2026 draft, form what the Seattle Times called the youngest frontcourt pairing in league history.

With Ezi Magbegor back from a foot injury as of July 2, all three are healthy together for the first time this season.
