The corner of W. McGraw Street and Queen Anne Avenue N. is getting a new specialty grocer. Kitchen & Market plans to open its sixth location there in early 2027.
The Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce announced the expansion Aug. 27. The Puget Sound Business Journal reported Aug. 17 that the store is targeting a February opening, and that it is the company's first new location since founder and CEO Stephanie King was diagnosed with cancer in 2024.
Kitchen & Market bills itself as a European-style specialty grocery. The Queen Anne shop will carry chef-prepared meal kits priced at $45 to $65 for two to four servings, along with grab-and-go items and fresh produce.
King described the concept in the Chamber's announcement as "if Dean & Deluca and Trader Joe's made a Blue Apron baby."
King opened the original Kitchen & Market inside Pike Place Market in 2021. The company added locations in Mercer Island in 2022 and Medina in 2023, then Yarrow Bay and Eastlake in 2024, according to the Chamber. Queen Anne will be the sixth.
That growth stalled after King's diagnosis. The Puget Sound Business Journal described the Queen Anne opening as the company moving "back in growth mode" after what it called King's health battle.
No opening date more specific than early 2027 has been confirmed by the company. The Chamber described the Queen Anne location as part of Kitchen & Market's push toward becoming a national grocery concept.
